Virtual Chief Information Security Officer – vCISO

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois, +3 more states.

📋 Description

• Deliver strategic cybersecurity advice and oversight to Vistrada clients.

• Direct and manage clients’ cybersecurity initiatives to safeguard infrastructure, data, personnel, and customers.

• Offer security consulting, compliance assistance, and oversight of security programs.

• Supervise security and compliance evaluations and generate reports that include gap analysis, POAM, recommendations, and remediation strategies.

• Guide and mentor security analysts.

• Provide fractional chief information security officer services.

• Function as an extension of clients’ information security management and governance operations.

• Create, implement, and supervise information security programs.

• Evaluate security controls and technology necessities and provide recommendations.

• Formulate security roadmaps and action plans.

• Assist in vendor and third-party risk management and due diligence processes.

• Create business continuity and incident response strategies.

• Monitor key performance indicators, metrics, and security dashboards.

• Aid business development and activities aimed at prospective clients.

• Support statements of work, resource requirements, estimates, and RFP submissions.

• Recognize client security and technology requirements along with business development prospects.

• Produce expert content and engage in panels, public speaking events, and conferences.

• Design high-quality security solutions.

• Carry out other tasks assigned by management.

⛳️ Requirements

• Comprehensive understanding of cybersecurity best practices, industry standards, and regulations.

• Excellent communication, leadership, and project management abilities.

• Capacity to collaborate effectively with both internal and external stakeholders.

• CISO experience OR qualified candidates who have not held the position but are ready to fulfill the role.

• In-depth knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks and regulations, including NIST, ISO, CMMC, PCI, COBIT, DFARS, HIPAA, etc.

• Practical experience in incident response coordination and management.

• Strong grasp of IT risk, covering applications, infrastructure, networks, and vendors.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Accounting, MIS, or equivalent work experience.

• Skill in developing and presenting management-level materials to stakeholders.

• Relevant certifications such as CISA, CISM, or CISSP, or comparable experience.

• Consulting experience is advantageous.
