Virtual Care Veterinarian

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Louisiana.

📋 Description

• Perform virtual consultations with pet owners through video and asynchronous messaging.

• Assess medical histories, symptoms, and treatment inquiries submitted via Dutch’s digital platform.

• Establish a valid Veterinary Client-Patient Relationship (VCPR) when necessary and evaluate the appropriateness of telemedicine for each case.

• Offer evidence-based treatment suggestions, including prescriptions when clinically justified.

• Communicate with clarity, empathy, and care in every interaction.

• Thoroughly document all encounters using Dutch’s Electronic Medical Records (EMR) system.

• Collaborate with the clinical leadership team at Dutch as required.

⛳️ Requirements

• Graduated from a veterinary school accredited by the AVMA or fulfilled the necessary requirements to practice in the United States.

• Possess an active license in one or more states where Dutch operates.*

• Maintain a license in good standing without any malpractice or disciplinary actions.

• Have 3+ years of clinical experience following graduation.

• Ensure a quiet, professional environment and have reliable internet access for video consultations.

• Exhibit strong written and verbal communication abilities.

• Approach care with a collaborative and compassionate mindset.

• Be comfortable utilizing telehealth tools and managing consultations independently.
