This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.
β’ Conduct daily shoots on location: Record video at youth sports tournaments, practices, games, and brand events throughout Dallas and the surrounding areas. Strategically plan coverage to ensure each shoot yields multiple pieces of usable content.
β’ Capture the complete narrative: Obtain player highlights, behind-the-scenes moments, interviews with athletes and coaches, as well as atmosphere and B-roll footage.
β’ Edit short-form vertical content: Create Reels, TikToks, and YouTube Shorts tailored for each platform. Manage aspects such as pacing, sound design, captions, and on-screen text to ensure each piece is ready for posting.
β’ Oversee the asset library: Take charge of organizing footage, backing up files, and maintaining a searchable archive of both raw and edited assets so the team can easily locate what they need.
β’ Stay updated on trends: Monitor social trends, viral formats, and innovative editing techniques, incorporating them into the content you create.
β’ Quick turnaround: Provide same-day or next-day edits on event content to ensure it goes live while the moment is still relevant.
β’ Portfolio of short-form vertical work: A compilation of Reels, TikToks, or Shorts that you have shot and edited, preferably for a brand, team, or creator account in sports, athletics, or lifestyle.
β’ Camera work in live environments: Experience shooting handheld in dynamic, unpredictable settings such as sidelines, courtside, and crowded venues, with consistent results in focus, framing, and exposure.
β’ Editing fluency: Proficient in Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, or CapCut Pro. Solid understanding of hooks, pacing, sound design, and platform-specific best practices for vertical video.
β’ Strong editorial judgment: Ability to anticipate shots, read a game or event in real-time, and identify which moments will edit well in post-production.
β’ Sports content background: Previous experience shooting for a team, league, club, or sports brand.
β’ Footage management: A dependable system for cards, backups, folder structure, and file naming to keep assets organized and easily retrievable.
β’ AI editing tools: Working knowledge of Descript, Runway, or CapCut's AI features.
β’ Gear: Own or have access to a professional camera setup (mirrorless or cinema body), lenses, audio equipment, and basic lighting.
β’ Location: Reside in Dallas, TX, with reliable transportation to shoots across the Dallas metro area. U.S. work authorization is required.
β’ Bonus points for motion design: Capability to create graphics, lower thirds, and animated text in After Effects or directly within your editing software.
β’ Photography skills: Ability to capture stills during shoots and deliver photo assets alongside video content.
β’ Interview experience: Comfortable conducting short interviews with athletes, coaches, or parents.
