This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.
• Create original short-form and long-form videos that focus on U.S. politics, public affairs, and significant national and global events.
• Investigate assigned stories and deliver background information, updates, source materials, editorial perspectives, and pertinent footage to senior producers.
• Develop video segments from the research phase through scripting, production, editing, and final publication.
• Write and enhance scripts, interview questions, talent briefs, and segment outlines.
• Collaborate with U.S.-based on-camera talent and producers to prepare interviews, explainers, analyses, and other video content.
• Coordinate with producers and video editors in India to ensure projects remain aligned, accurate, and on schedule.
• Identify guests, experts, correspondents, and contributors for interviews and commentary.
• Choose editorial angles, soundbites, visual components, and supplemental material.
• Keep track of U.S. political developments, breaking news, social trends, and competitor coverage.
• Review videos for editorial precision, clarity, pacing, visual quality, and alignment with company standards.
• Verify third-party footage, secure or confirm rights and permissions, and ensure proper attribution.
• Analyze audience performance metrics and utilize insights for future video projects.
• Facilitate communication across teams in the United States and India while remaining adaptable during significant political events and breaking news.
• 1–3 years of relevant work experience.
• Proven experience in producing both short-form and long-form digital news videos, backed by a solid portfolio.
• Strong understanding of U.S. politics, public affairs, elections, and key national and global developments.
• Exceptional skills in research, fact-checking, editorial judgment, and scriptwriting.
• Ability to transform complex stories into clear, accurate, and engaging video content.
• Experience collaborating with on-camera talent, producers, video editors, experts, and other contributors.
• Strong grasp of visual storytelling, including the selection of soundbites, footage, and supporting material.
• Familiarity with platforms such as YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok, including audience engagement and video performance metrics.
• Attention to sourcing, attribution, copyright, footage rights, and permissions.
• Strong communication, organizational, and project management skills.
• Capability to manage multiple productions and adhere to tight deadlines.
• Ability to work collaboratively across India and U.S. time zones, demonstrating flexibility during breaking news and major political events.
• A resume, a brief cover note, and links to relevant video work are required for application.
