This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
β’ The Video Operator plays a key role in addressing the engineering requirements for our remote broadcasts, which includes painting and shading cameras, as well as monitoring, troubleshooting, and overseeing the technical operations of our remote events.
β’ This position entails providing technical engineering support in the planning, design, and execution of a diverse range of events.
β’ The operator is tasked with adjusting video levels, black/white balance, and color balance across all cameras.
β’ Responsibilities include patching and routing video, collaborating with the video team/staff to position monitors for talent and the production.
β’ The ability to troubleshoot any video-related issues is essential, encompassing camera, cabling, lens, and other technical concerns.
β’ Management and organization of remote compound video, fiber cable, and source lists are required.
β’ The operator will be involved in organizing, planning, and developing workflows with the support of Operations and Production partners.
β’ The role includes an introduction to system design and building, as well as on-site integration and setup, which covers video paths, fiber-linked systems, digital video compression, and transmission standards, PC networking, Master Control facilities and hubs, and network storage systems. This also encompasses broadcast trucks, fly packs, and fiber kits.
β’ A minimum of 2 years of hands-on remote production operations experience at the network level in a Video role is required.
β’ A thorough understanding of the operations of live production equipment is essential.
β’ Proficiency in reading and operating a waveform/vectorscope (formats β SDI and IP, HD, UHD, and HDR) is necessary.
β’ The ability to manage the overall camera appearance and shading requirements is expected.
β’ Monitoring and adjusting signals and monitors as required is part of the role.
β’ Setting up, operating, and dismantling video equipment on-site as necessary is essential.
β’ Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot using technical knowledge and effective communication tools to convey issues and solutions are crucial.
β’ Flexibility in scheduling is required, including availability for travel and working weekends and holidays as dictated by the schedule and show requirements.
β’ A solid understanding of broadcast equipment and the needs of remote production shows is preferred.
β’ Knowledge of fiber optic systems and cabling is also preferred.
