This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in North Carolina.
• Delivers engaging and comprehensive synchronous and asynchronous learning experiences for students.
• Dedicated to customizing learning approaches for every student.
• Upholds a strong belief in the potential of all students to achieve and meet high standards.
• Adapts instruction based on individual student mastery levels.
• Enhances course material in accordance with established policies and procedures, utilizing appropriate asynchronous and synchronous tools under the supervision of the principal and coach.
• Manages the grade book to ensure academic integrity, makes decisions regarding student placement and promotion, and notifies administrators of any concerns regarding student performance and progress.
• Prepares students for critical standardized assessments.
• Recognizes that a key responsibility is to build and sustain positive relationships with families, maintaining regular communication with and responding promptly to students and learning coaches/parents.
• Assists learning coaches/parents with student curricular and instructional challenges, as well as basic troubleshooting within a virtual classroom setting, in accordance with academy policies and procedures.
• Travels as necessary (approximately once a month and/or around 20% of the time) for in-person professional development, student testing, and other school-related requirements.
• Bachelor's degree AND
• Valid state teaching license AND
• Ability to successfully pass the required background check.
• Experience with the specified age group.
• Background in supporting both adults and children in utilizing technology.
• Experience teaching in an online (virtual) setting and/or in a traditional brick-and-mortar environment.
• Familiarity with online learning platforms.
• Capability to collaborate effectively with fellow teachers to analyze and produce numeric, tabular, and graphical representations of student data, and leverage this information to inform instructional decisions.
• Open to receiving regular coaching from administrators and teacher trainers.
• Ability to adapt to change and respond to ensure outstanding student outcomes.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Capable of quickly learning and adapting to new technologies and teaching platforms.
• Committed to maintaining teacher certification/professional development hours and staying informed about K12 systems, programs, and curriculum.
