This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.
• Act as the strategic leader responsible for overseeing operational and financial objectives at both the clinic and regional levels within the New York market.
• Develop, manage, and forecast regional budgets — taking ownership of cost structures, identifying discrepancies, and making informed resource allocation decisions based on data.
• Collaborate closely with the regional clinical leader to meet expected outcomes and foster accountability throughout the region.
• Effectively manage reporting at the regional, clinic, and provider levels to monitor performance and uncover opportunities for improvement.
• Collect data-driven insights to guide performance enhancement initiatives; combine these with qualitative observations from workflow assessments to ensure consistent execution of care models.
• Share joint responsibility with the regional clinical leader for planning and implementing regional optimization strategies.
• Contribute to the formulation of corporate methods, techniques, and evaluation standards; address complex issues where conventional principles may not apply.
• Ensure adherence to operational standards and workflows as designed, maintaining consistency across all clinics.
• Relay qualitative insights back to the Care Operations team, acting as a liaison between field operations and corporate functions.
• Initiate new projects — whether driven by corporate or regional objectives — that enhance daily operations and improve outcomes.
• Lead change management initiatives for new workflows, systems, and corporate strategies, ensuring regional teams are prepared, supported, and engaged.
• Take ownership of the patient experience across the region — utilizing feedback, incident reports, and frontline observations to continually enhance how families perceive Brightline's care.
• Oversee patient access, including waitlist management, panel sizes, and intake capacity, to guarantee families can receive care when necessary.
• Ensure that regional operations comply with all relevant regulatory, accreditation, and quality standards pertaining to behavioral health care delivery.
• Manage regional incident protocols and risk escalation processes, partnering with clinical leadership to address safety issues promptly and systematically.
• Monitor clinical quality metrics and collaborate across functions to bridge gaps in care delivery standards.
• Lead a regional team, holding direct management accountability for manager-level leaders and frontline operational staff, with an organizational structure that will adapt as the region grows.
• Take charge of or significantly collaborate on regional hiring — creating a talent pipeline, contributing to selection processes, and ensuring the team expands with qualified individuals.
• Devise strategies for team retention, culture enhancement, and professional growth throughout the region.
• Manage provider templates and schedules, considering provider-specific nuances present in the New York market.
• Serve as the strategic owner of facilities within the region, addressing practical limitations affecting operations.
• Spearhead ground-level execution for new clinic openings in the region — currently four clinics with plans to expand to six.
• Establish and maintain trust between Brightline's senior leadership and the regional and clinic-level teams.
• Align diverse stakeholder viewpoints — including those of executives and frontline personnel — to achieve unified results.
• In partnership with the Demand & Partnerships team, oversee performance for key regional relationships (e.g., NYU) and implement high-impact measures to strengthen and deepen these partnerships.
• Minimum of 8 years of professional experience, including at least 3 years in leadership roles overseeing multi-site brick-and-mortar or hybrid healthcare delivery operations.
• Proven ability to build strong, cohesive teams, optimize operations, and achieve sustainable business outcomes.
• In-depth knowledge of the behavioral and mental health sector, coupled with an innovative approach to delivering unique care experiences.
• Excellent communicator who quickly builds relationships and excels in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment.
• P&L ownership mindset — proficient in budget management, clinic-level financial forecasting, unit economics, and data-driven decision-making.
• Familiarity with quality standards, regulatory compliance, and risk management in a healthcare context.
• Established change management skills — adept at guiding teams through organizational transformations, new systems, and evolving workflows.
• Proficient with EHR/EMR systems and operational technologies utilized in clinical settings.
• Comfortable navigating ambiguity and creating structure in a developing organization.
• Willingness to allocate approximately 50% of time to clinic activities, including travel to locations outside the New York City metropolitan area (e.g., Albany).
• Experience in a high-growth, venture-backed environment is highly desirable.
• An MBA is preferred but not mandatory.
