This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Pennsylvania.
• Take charge of the financial performance of the VWR private label portfolio on a global scale, encompassing revenue, margin, mix, and growth targets, while spearheading initiatives to enhance category economics and overall portfolio performance.
• Develop and implement multi-year category strategies across various product categories, utilizing insights from customers, markets, competitors, and finances to prioritize opportunities and inform portfolio decisions.
• Lead the introduction of new products and conduct assessments of portfolio gaps.
• Manage the complete portfolio lifecycle, including assortment planning, rationalization, obsolescence, commercialization, positioning, and pricing of private label product portfolios.
• Utilize market trends, supplier intelligence, customer insights, and competitor analysis to uncover whitespace opportunities, risks, and category shifts that shape portfolio strategy.
• Set pricing guardrails and establish product assortment and mix strategies to enhance the competitiveness of private label offerings.
• Collaborate with sourcing, commercial, marketing, finance, supply chain, legal, and quality/regulatory stakeholders to effectively launch portfolio priorities through strategic planning, customer targeting, and sales enablement.
• Work closely with sourcing, product management, commercial leaders, operations, finance, and regional teams to ensure alignment of category priorities with enterprise objectives.
• A bachelor’s degree in business, life sciences, supply chain, marketing, or a related discipline; an advanced degree is preferred.
• Over 10 years of progressive leadership experience in category management, portfolio management, product management, strategic sourcing, or similar commercial roles.
• Strong preference for experience with private label, proprietary, or self-manufactured categories.
• Proven track record in leading large-scale category strategies, portfolio optimization, pricing, commercialization, and cross-functional execution within a complex, matrixed environment.
• Experience collaborating with suppliers, manufacturers, and strategic sourcing partners.
• A global perspective with experience in operating across regions, understanding diverse market dynamics, customer segments, and regulatory or supply considerations.
