Vice President of Data

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants anywhere in the world.

📋 Description

• Formulate and implement a comprehensive data strategy that aligns with the overall objectives and goals of the company.

• Supervise the strategic direction, tactical decision-making, and resource allocation to guarantee effective, efficient, and successful achievement of objectives.

• Create strategic plans to ensure the successful execution and outcomes of action plans and objectives.

• Manage and direct activities and projects across multiple functions through various levels of management.

• Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing data team, promoting a culture of innovation and excellence.

• Establish and enforce data governance frameworks to ensure data quality, security, and compliance with relevant regulations.

• Propel the development of advanced analytics and business intelligence capabilities to provide insights that guide strategic business decisions.

• Collaborate closely with other departments, such as marketing, operations, and finance, to ensure effective utilization of data throughout the organization.

• Assess, implement, and manage data management and analytics technologies that enhance our data capabilities and operational efficiencies.

• Present data strategies, insights, and progress to executive leadership and key stakeholders, ensuring alignment and support throughout the organization.

• Exemplify the RBG Values and Ways of Working, setting a standard for tone and communication across the company.

• Perform additional duties as assigned to fulfill team objectives and ensure business operational efficiency.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Business Analytics, or a related field; a Master's degree or MBA is preferred.

• Over 10 years of experience in data management and analytics, including at least 7 years of experience in people management and leadership roles.

• Strong proficiency in data analytics tools (e.g., SQL, Python, R) and visualization platforms (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).

• Comprehensive understanding of data governance, privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR), and industry best practices.

• Outstanding analytical and strategic thinking abilities, with a proven history of utilizing data to drive business success.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the capacity to convey complex data concepts to diverse audiences.

• Experience in the travel or tourism industry is highly desirable.

• Demonstrated capability to lead and cultivate high-performing teams across various functions and departments.

• Proven ability to develop and execute strategic plans that align with corporate objectives.

• Experience in full ownership and responsibility for functional budgets to meet corporate and financial requirements.
