📋 Description

• Develop and take ownership of KIPP’s comprehensive growth and scaling strategy, incorporating multi-year objectives, portfolio priorities, and the prerequisites for sustainable expansion.

• Establish the vision and standards for network growth, ensuring that scaling decisions are evidence-driven, equity-focused, and in harmony with the One KIPP strategy.

• Create methodologies and criteria for evaluating regional viability risks and supervise assessments aimed at long-term sustainability and success.

• Provide counsel to the Chief Schools Officer, Chief of Regional Impact, CEO, and Board regarding growth strategies, landscape insights, and organizational alignment.

• Facilitate cross-functional planning alongside the Office of the Chief Schools Officer and Chief of Regional Impact.

• Direct the Foundation’s partnerships with regions seeking opportunistic growth and convert ambitions into actionable plans.

• Develop systems for monitoring progress, identify when course corrections are necessary, and escalate risks to senior leadership as needed.

• Recognize cross-regional growth trends, promote effective practices, and address systemic gaps throughout the network.

• Act as the senior escalation point for regions concerning growth-related issues.

• Lead, nurture, and oversee the Senior Director of Growth.

• Foster a culture of accountability, learning, and ongoing improvement.

• Represent the Growth function in executive forums, cross-functional planning meetings, and Board-level updates on growth.


⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 12 years of progressive experience in strategy, growth, and network development, or related enterprise leadership positions, preferably in K-12 education or a similar mission-driven context.

• Demonstrated success in managing and developing people managers across teams of four or more direct reports, with measurable impacts on performance and organizational results.

• Capability to establish vision, goals, and strategy for one or multiple functions with executive-level autonomy, and translate that vision into accountable execution through a team.

• Direct responsibility for network-wide strategic priorities, with proven outcomes affecting all regions or the entire network.

• Experience in designing and maintaining data-driven readiness or assessment frameworks, converting quantitative and qualitative data into recommendations that drive network-wide accountability.

• Strong analytical and strategic abilities, including landscape analysis, financial modeling, and synthesizing complex information into strategic narratives for executive and Board audiences.

• Proven executive presence and the capacity to autonomously make network-level decisions while serving as a senior thought partner to C-suite leaders and regional boards.

• Experience collaborating with regional or field-based leaders to translate national strategies into executable plans that are customized to local contexts while ensuring network-wide coherence.

• Background in K-12 education, charter school growth, or a comparable mission-driven environment is highly preferred.

• Willingness to travel extensively: 21–30% (40–60 days per year).

• This is a full-time, exempt position.
