This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Act as the technical expert for intricate investment asset classes and frameworks in accordance with U.S. GAAP and U.S. Statutory accounting standards.
• Serve as the primary liaison for the investment office regarding complex transactions and investment structures.
• Take the initiative to adopt and incorporate AI-driven tools and platforms into research and execution processes.
• Be a reliable resource for the investment accounting team on all matters related to technical accounting.
• Aid in researching, evaluating, and documenting the accounting implications for significant or atypical transactions.
• Monitor, analyze, and document updates from the FASB, SEC, and NAIC.
• Contribute to the documentation of financial processes and controls.
• Offer real-time guidance on the implications of U.S. GAAP and U.S. Statutory accounting policies.
• Provide training and mentorship to both new and existing staff members.
• Perform other related responsibilities as assigned.
• A Bachelor’s Degree and an internationally recognized accounting designation (CPA or CA) are mandatory.
• At least 8 years of relevant experience is required; a background in investment is preferred.
• Significant experience at a public accounting firm is favored.
• Exposure to the insurance sector is preferred.
• Proven experience with accounting for complex investment asset classes and structures is essential.
• Specific knowledge in the consolidation assessment of private equity asset structures under both the variable interest and voting interest consolidation models is required.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills are necessary.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage shifting priorities is crucial.
• Detail-oriented and highly organized, with exceptional technical memorandum writing skills.
• Strong research, communication, and analytical capabilities are essential.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
• Capacity to stay updated on changes in U.S. GAAP, U.S. Statutory accounting guidance, and SEC regulations.
