Vice President, Financial Planning & Analysis, Treasury & Tax

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.

📋 Description

• Oversee the annual operating plan, strategic plan, long-term financial outlook, and enterprise capital allocation framework for CONMED.

• Provide financial guidance for growth strategies, investments, acquisitions, capital deployment, and organizational transformation.

• Lead global forecasting efforts and present financial projections.

• Establish performance metrics, financial targets, and reporting practices for the enterprise.

• Monitor performance against established plans and forecasts, identifying risks, opportunities, and necessary corrective measures.

• Develop and implement CONMED's global treasury strategy.

• Manage global cash positioning, liquidity planning, debt facilities, credit agreements, covenant compliance, and intercompany capital planning.

• Cultivate banking relationships and support capital markets activities, refinancing, financing structures, share repurchase programs, and capital allocation initiatives.

• Manage financial risks, including those related to interest rates, foreign exchange, counterparties, insurance, and treasury-related SOX compliance issues.

• Provide executive leadership for global tax activities, ensuring compliance, accounting, financial reporting, regulatory disclosures, and tax governance.

• Advise leadership on the tax implications of acquisitions, divestitures, restructurings, international expansions, and strategic initiatives.

• Manage tax audits, examinations, and interactions with tax authorities and external advisors.

• Counsel the CFO, Executive Leadership Team, and Board of Directors on financial performance, investments, capital deployment, liquidity, risks, treasury, and tax strategy.

• Develop executive reports, financial analyses, treasury updates, business reviews, tax updates, and materials for the Board.

• Lead analyses related to revenue growth, margin enhancement, operational efficiency, cash flow, capital investments, and strategic initiatives.

• Collaborate with business leaders on business cases, acquisitions, operational improvements, and implications for tax or treasury.

• Foster data-driven decision-making through financial modeling, scenario analysis, market intelligence, and performance analytics.

• Establish planning processes, financial controls, forecasting practices, treasury policies, tax governance, and controls over cash movement.

• Align FP&A, Accounting, Treasury, Tax, Legal, external auditors, advisors, and business finance teams.

• Drive continuous improvement in planning systems, Treasury and Tax processes, reporting tools, and analytical capabilities.

• Lead and nurture a high-performing finance organization across FP&A, Treasury, and Tax.

• Enhance organizational capability through succession planning, leadership development, talent management, and clear accountability for finance activities.

• Promote accountability, collaboration, analytical excellence, control discipline, and a culture of continuous improvement.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field.

• Over 15 years of progressive experience in FP&A, corporate finance, accounting, business finance, or related financial disciplines within a complex multinational organization.

• At least 8 years of experience in people leadership, including managing teams of managers and/or directors.

• Minimum of 5 years in executive-level finance leadership roles with responsibility for enterprise financial planning, forecasting, capital allocation, or related corporate finance functions.

• Experience leading an FP&A function in a global manufacturing, medical device, life sciences, healthcare, or highly regulated industry.

• Familiarity with publicly traded company environments, including governance, disclosure, compliance, and shareholder considerations.

• MBA or a Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Taxation, or a related discipline (preferred).

• CPA, CFA, Certified Treasury Professional (CTP), or other relevant professional designations (preferred).

• Proven success in leading enterprise planning, forecasting, strategic analysis, performance management, liquidity planning, and capital allocation processes.

• Demonstrated ability to influence senior stakeholders, drive enterprise alignment, and navigate organizational complexity and change.

• A solid track record of building, leading, and developing high-performing teams across multiple management levels.

• Experience providing support to executive leadership, Board-level discussions, and enterprise decision-making through financial analysis and recommendations.

• Background in supporting public company reporting, earnings processes, investor-related analyses, capital markets activities, debt financing, refinancing, or capital allocation decisions.

• Experience managing global treasury operations, including cash management, liquidity planning, banking relationships, debt facilities, foreign exchange, and enterprise financial risk management.

• Expertise in overseeing global tax strategy, tax compliance, transfer pricing, tax accounting, and international tax matters.

• Experience with mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, integration activities, enterprise transformation initiatives, or global business expansion.

• Proficiency in presenting to Boards of Directors, Audit Committees, or executive leadership teams.
