Vice President – Audit

📋 Description

• Spearhead the formulation and implementation of the Technology Applications audit strategy, concentrating on assessing the effectiveness and efficiency of Technology Applications, Systems, and Processes.

• Ensure adherence to regulatory and industry standards while identifying improvement areas to bolster the overall Technology and Information Security controls within the Bank.

• Collaborate with senior management in Internal Audit to craft a risk-based audit coverage strategy, prioritize audits, and provide independent evaluations of the technology applications audit process.

• Work with other audit seniors to deliver technological support for thorough bank-wide integrated audits.

• Identify emerging risks by engaging with business units to comprehend organizational changes and conducting risk assessments in these domains.

• Define the scope and objectives for technology application audits to align with industry best practices.

• Evaluate internal controls within critical technology risk areas to ensure compliance with internal policies and applicable laws and regulations.

• Advise management on new developments affecting the portfolio or controls and propose proactive solutions.

• Execute technology audits by assessing the design and operational effectiveness of controls, verifying compliance, and identifying weaknesses and vulnerabilities.

• Establish performance standards and assess whether these standards and deadlines are achieved.

• Supervise audit activities to ensure adherence to the planned methodology and completion within the established timelines.

• Mentor and guide auditors to ensure that approved audit objectives are fulfilled and sufficient coverage is attained.

• Enhance team capabilities by identifying training needs and ensuring that team members stay informed on professional advancements.

• Identify and evaluate technology-related risks, assess the adequacy and effectiveness of internal controls, security measures, and operational resilience, ensuring that suitable controls are in place to mitigate potential risks.

• Draft comprehensive audit reports outlining findings and management actions, and present audit results to senior management, highlighting key risk areas, control deficiencies, and improvement opportunities.

• Stay updated on industry knowledge and requirements, ensure team members are aware of professional developments, and oversee professional development programs for assigned staff.

• Articulate complex technical concepts and audit findings clearly and succinctly to non-technical stakeholders.

• Foster a culture of excellence and high performance by embedding learning and creativity to enhance agility in driving transformation.

• Review and evaluate the adequacy and effectiveness of the bank's IT controls related to advanced digital footprints, including but not limited to cloud, API, microservices, and emerging technologies.


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, or a related discipline.

• A minimum of 10 years of experience in IT, preferably within the banking sector.

• Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), CISSP, or other relevant professional certifications.

• Extensive knowledge of IT audit methodologies, tools, and techniques related to cybersecurity and the latest technology stack, including but not limited to cloud, API, microservices, and emerging technologies.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, focusing on identifying and mitigating risks associated with advanced digital footprints.

• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, capable of effectively conveying technical issues to both technical and non-technical audiences.

• Ability to work autonomously, lead a team, and collaborate effectively across departments.
