Vice President – Associate General Counsel

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Missouri.

📋 Description

• Act as a legal advisor to Centene's business leaders, offering strategic legal insights and direction.

• Collaborate with business leaders to devise solutions for legal challenges and issues.

• Manage national-level and/or Company-wide legal affairs.

• Provide legal counsel to Centene entities and create solutions for legal and regulatory demands affecting product lines and programs.

• Function as the primary legal advisor for business development, procurement, network development, operations, compliance, internal audit, and other essential functions.

• Serve as the main legal counsel for Centene subsidiaries, delivering general counsel services.

• Counsel corporate teams on addressing business challenges.

• Design and propose legal frameworks for business ventures, including joint ventures, mergers and acquisitions, and contractual agreements.

• Draft and negotiate relevant contracts, policies, procedures, and other legal documents.

• Oversee outside counsel as needed to guarantee effective, high-quality legal support.

• Suggest and create training related to legal matters and proactive legal practices.

• Undertake additional responsibilities as assigned.

• Adhere to all policies and standards.

⛳️ Requirements

• Juris Doctor (JD) is mandatory.

• Bar Admission and current good standing are required.

• A minimum of 7 years of experience in corporate and/or health law is required.

• At least 1 year of experience with complex mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, and other transactions, as well as government contract law, health law, and managed care is preferred.

• Over 1 year of experience in highly regulated industries is preferred.

• A Master's Degree is preferred.

• Equivalent experience gained through relevant knowledge, responsibilities, scope, and skills that reflect the level of this position is acceptable.
