Underwriting Counsel

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Pennsylvania.

📋 Description

• Provide support and guidance for underwriting, including authorization related to title insurance commitments and policies in real estate.

• Underwrite title insurance issuance in accordance with established underwriting standards and guidelines within designated authority limits.

• Assist company personnel in executing real estate settlement services.

• Develop and issue underwriting standards and guidelines following established company procedures.

• Relay information regarding underwriting and real estate settlement services to the team.

• Carry out additional responsibilities as assigned.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Law Degree is required.

• Must be admitted to practice in the state of employment.

• Licensed to practice law and in good standing.

• 8–10 years of experience in title underwriting.

• Knowledge of real estate law is essential.

• Strong understanding of real estate title and settlement processes.

• Familiarity with federal and state regulations regarding title insurance and settlement services.

• Comprehension of underwriting real estate transactions for title insurance policies.

• Demonstrated ability to collaborate and make decisive actions.

• Detail-oriented with excellent listening, verbal, and written communication skills.

• Strong organizational skills, including the ability to multitask, prioritize, and follow up in a timely manner.

• Excellent negotiation abilities.

• Capacity for abstract thinking and creative problem-solving.

• Proficiency in resolving complex issues with thoughtful, innovative decisions.

• Ability to cultivate relationships and establish rapport.
