This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Leadership of Compliance Program: Design, execute, and continuously improve Revance’s global compliance and ethics framework, which encompasses policies, procedures, and systems aimed at identifying, preventing, and managing compliance risks across all business sectors (aesthetics, therapeutics, and consumer skincare).
• Regulatory & Healthcare Compliance Oversight: Ensure adherence to all pertinent healthcare laws and regulations. Act as the Company’s authority on FDA advertising and promotion guidelines, guaranteeing that marketing collateral, product claims, and field operations undergo proper Medical/Legal/Regulatory review and approval.
• Policy Development & Training: Create and sustain extensive compliance policies and SOPs that address critical risk factors (e.g., promotional practices, HCP engagement, anti-bribery/FCPA, gifts and hospitality, patient data privacy, and conflicts of interest). Deploy effective training and communication strategies to inform employees at all levels about compliance responsibilities and ethical decision-making.
• Monitoring & Risk Assessment: Perform regular compliance risk evaluations to pinpoint emerging risks and assess the effectiveness of mitigation strategies.
• Advisory & Business Partnership: Serve as the primary compliance advisor to business teams and leadership. Provide prompt, solutions-focused guidance on everyday inquiries and strategic initiatives.
• Investigations & Enforcement: Establish and execute the Company’s procedures for receiving, investigating, and resolving allegations of potential misconduct or policy breaches.
• Third-Party & International Compliance: Implement and oversee controls for third-party engagements and international operations.
• Regulatory Developments & Response: Keep abreast of relevant regulatory and enforcement trends that may influence Revance’s operations and proactively revise policies and training to adapt to changes in the legal environment.
• J.D. degree from an ABA-accredited law school.
• Must be admitted to practice law in good standing in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
• 10-15+ years of progressive experience in legal, compliance, regulatory, and/or risk management positions, with a minimum of 3 years advising organizations regarding commercial pharmaceutical products.
• Experience providing counsel to companies regarding aesthetic products is strongly preferred. Global experience is an added advantage.
• Previous experience in a compliance leadership capacity with accountability for implementing and managing a corporate compliance initiative.
• In-depth knowledge of healthcare and FDA regulatory compliance is essential, with a proven understanding of the laws, regulations, and industry standards governing pharmaceutical and medical device operations within the U.S.
• This includes FDA regulations on advertising, promotion, labeling, and Good Promotional Practices; FTC rules for product marketing; the Anti-Kickback Statute, False Claims Act, and related fraud and abuse regulations; the Sunshine Act and transparency requirements; HIPAA and data privacy considerations in healthcare; and global anti-bribery laws like the FCPA.
• Familiarity with current FDA/DOJ enforcement priorities and OIG compliance program guidance is anticipated.
• Expertise in reviewing and advising on marketing materials, including social media content, specifically for an aesthetic products portfolio that features a neuromodulator (toxin).
• Proven track record in building and enhancing compliance programs.
• Experience in formulating compliance policies, training initiatives, monitoring strategies, and internal controls tailored to an organization’s risk profile.
• Leadership and influence. Established ability to lead and mentor a team of compliance and legal professionals, as well as to influence cross-functional teams and senior executives.
• Experience in managing and mentoring compliance attorneys to effectively collaborate with business stakeholders and cultivate robust, trusted internal business relationships.
• Comfortable operating at both strategic and detailed levels, from leading Board presentations to reviewing marketing materials or preparing field training slides for compliance accuracy.
• Excellent communication and training skills. Proficient in simplifying complex regulatory concepts into actionable, understandable guidance for business audiences.
• Strong writing abilities for clear risk analysis and legal advice, policy drafting, and preparing investigative reports.
• Dynamic presenter capable of engaging employees during training sessions and encouraging discussions on ethical dilemmas.
