VFX Artist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Develop, design, and execute real-time particle effects utilizing both static and animated 2D/3D components.

• Position visual effects throughout environmental, gameplay, and cinematic segments of the game.

• Generate FX textures, encompassing color, normal, specular, ambient occlusion, height, and incandescent maps.

• Construct FX shaders through node-based shader networks.

• Create basic geometry and UV sets.

• Optimize FX for performance, ensuring smooth framerate and efficient memory usage.

• Collaborate with development teams to guarantee proper FX integration within the game engine.

• Contribute to the overall artistic direction of the game.

• Coordinate FX events involving layering and timing to craft realistic scenes.

• Execute other assigned responsibilities.

⛳️ Requirements

• Intermediate proficiency in navigating and utilizing DCC software such as Maya, Houdini, or similar tools.

• Solid foundation in computer graphics principles and artistic evaluation.

• Proficient in Maya.

• Skilled in working with joints and locators, keyframing, rigid body simulations, hard surface modeling, and UV mapping.

• Competent in Photoshop for texture painting and editing.

• Experienced with node-based shader networks.

• Strong team collaboration skills and a positive attitude.

• Keen observational skills and the ability to utilize reference materials effectively.

• Capability to work independently.

• Proficient in animation and timing techniques.

• Ability to identify problems, gather data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

• Skill in interpreting technical instructions in mathematical or diagrammatic form while managing both abstract and concrete variables.

• Display professionalism in attendance, communication, reading comprehension, receiving feedback, and functioning in a production environment.
