Veterans Billed Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.

📋 Description

• Update billing information for the facility.

• Request claims and manage payment processing.

• Ensure VES payments are accurately posted.

• Confirm that patients’ accounts reflect zero balances.

• Send zero-balance letters to veterans or coordinate with facilities to do so.

• Process payments to facilities in accordance with contracted rates.

• Respond to internal and external inquiries regarding claim status and veteran billing issues.

• Communicate with facilities to secure outstanding or current claims.

• Conduct proactive outreach to medical facilities to clarify billing requirements.

• Coordinate the reassignment of invoices to VES.

• Verify that accounts are updated and closed properly.

• Maintain a daily log of follow-up activities.

• Prioritize cases according to urgency.

• Provide confirmation of resolution to veterans.

⛳️ Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED is required.

• One to two years of relevant experience in insurance or medical billing.

• Must be a US Citizen or Green Card holder.

• Must currently and permanently reside in the Continental US.

• Must be willing and able to adhere to the training schedule of 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM CT, Monday-Friday, for up to 3 weeks, without any planned absences.

• Internet speed of 20 Mbps or higher is required.

• Wi-Fi or Category 5 or 6 Ethernet connectivity to the home router is essential.

• A private work area and adequate power source are necessary.
