This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Pennsylvania.
• Generate and maintain patient records
• Confirm benefits eligibility
• Acquire medical orders, clinical notes, testing, and other essential documentation
• Identify eligible diagnoses in accordance with payer criteria
• Reach out to the National Notification line or local VA Medical Centers to verify authorizations
• Communicate purchase order requirements to the sales field
• Secure initial and recurring purchase orders from VA Medical Centers
• Manage, resolve, and confirm intake orders
• Process credit card transactions for purchase orders issued by VA Medical Centers
• Execute changes of benefits among third-party payers, VAMC payers, and other health insurance when applicable
• Conduct timely follow-ups on assigned tasks
• Review and finalize assigned fax documents for prompt credit card processing
• Achieve at least a Meets Expectations score on the monthly scorecard
• Liaise with customers, VA Medical Centers, and sales representatives to share insurance information and gather additional documentation for reimbursement and coordination of benefits
• Collaborate closely with Coordination of Patient Administration and Territory Managers
• Develop and sustain relationships with VA Medical Centers, sales representatives, and internal departments
• High School Diploma or equivalent is mandatory
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in insurance verification and comprehensive order processing, including account billing is essential
• Over 1 year of experience with the Veterans Administration is preferred
• An Associate's Degree in nursing, business, or a related field is preferred
• A Bachelor's Degree in nursing, business, or a related field is preferred
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strong customer service abilities and meticulous attention to detail
• Proficiency in using multiple software systems simultaneously
• Capability to manage various tasks concurrently under strict deadlines
• Exceptional organizational and time management abilities
• Aptitude to clearly and thoroughly communicate policy information
• Proficiency in MS Office Suite
• Ability to work autonomously with limited supervision and make independent judgments
• Capacity to sit for extended periods and occasionally stand, walk, reach, and lift/move up to 25 pounds
• Willingness to work Monday–Friday, from 10:30 AM to 7:00 PM EST
