
Vendor & Sourcing Manager – Apparel & Fashion

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Hong Kong.
• Manage factory-level relationships throughout Asia, acting as the main point of contact for vendor communications, negotiations, issue resolution, and performance alignment.
• Establish trusted partnerships with factory ownership and leadership teams to facilitate quality, cost, delivery, compliance, and long-term sourcing objectives.
• Conduct regular visits to factories across China and other significant Asian manufacturing regions to evaluate operations, address risks, and reinforce expectations.
• Oversee vendor onboarding, factory assessments, supplier development plans, corrective action follow-ups, and initiatives aimed at performance enhancement.
• Identify, assess, and qualify new factory partners that fulfill capacity, quality, compliance, costing, and operational criteria.
• Maintain vendor scorecards, factory capability matrices, certifications, audit records, and documentation of supplier performance.
• Support negotiations related to materials, trims, cut-make-trim production, full-package production, and associated cost frameworks.
• Monitor production milestones from development to final shipment, proactively flagging risks and driving effective solutions in collaboration with factory and internal teams.
• Collaborate with Product Development, Technical Design, Quality Assurance, Operations, Logistics, and Global Sourcing teams to ensure production readiness and timely delivery.
• Deliver comprehensive reports on production status, vendor performance, factory risks, sourcing opportunities, and regional market conditions.
• Proficient in English and Mandarin Chinese communication.
• Must reside in China or Hong Kong, with the capability for extensive travel throughout China and other key Asian manufacturing regions.
• Over 10 years of experience in apparel sourcing, production management, factory operations, or supply chain management, with substantial experience in Asia.
• Extensive knowledge of apparel manufacturing, fabric construction, garment production processes, material quality, and factory operations.
• Proven experience in managing factory relationships, vendor performance, costing, negotiations, production planning, and supplier accountability.
• Experience interacting directly with factory ownership or senior leadership teams and managing day-to-day vendor operations.
• Established network of factories across China and the broader Asian manufacturing markets.
• Familiarity with PLM, product lifecycle management, product development, or related sourcing and production systems.
• Experience collaborating with apparel brands, sourcing offices, buying offices, large manufacturers, or global supply chain organizations.
• Strong market insight across Vietnam, Bangladesh, Cambodia, Indonesia, South Korea, and other Asian manufacturing hubs.
• Nice-to-Have: Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Merchandising, Textile Science, International Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
• Experience with social compliance, sustainability audits, or factory certification programs such as WRAP, BSCI, SA8000, or similar standards.
• Proficiency in Vietnamese, Khmer, Korean, or another regional Asian language.
