Vaccines Field Director, Medical Science Liaisons

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona, +6 more states.

📋 Description

• Direct the performance of the MSL team by establishing business objectives and priorities to ensure the successful delivery of Medical Affairs plans and metrics.

• Lead, mentor, and oversee MSL team members to enhance performance and develop their capabilities.

• Articulate team vision and expectations while promoting continuous improvement.

• Formulate strategies, processes, and capabilities that enhance scientific engagement with external experts.

• Ensure that consolidated medical insights are appropriately disseminated across the organization, representing external experts and patients.

• Integrate the MSL team within the Medical Affairs department and collaborate with cross-functional business partners.

• Collaborate with sales leadership to align the efforts of Sales and MSL teams.

• Prioritize MSL activities, resources, staffing levels, and operational budgets.

• Recruit MSL talent and facilitate their onboarding process.

• Ensure adherence to GSK standards, policies, local codes of practice, guidelines, and regulations.

⛳️ Requirements

• Accredited doctorate degree in a life-science or basic-science field (Pharm.D., D.Sc., D.N.P., Ph.D., or M.D./D.O.).

• A minimum of six years of experience within an MSL organization.

• At least one year of proven experience in leading a field team.

• Two or more years of experience in the Vaccines or Infectious Disease area.

• Relevant experience in the pharmaceutical sector.

• Demonstrated experience in coaching, leading, and managing individuals to drive improved performance.

• Strong communication skills at all levels within the organization.

• A solid business acumen with the ability to balance cross-functional goals.

• Leadership experience in a matrix environment with a track record of excellence in cross-functional collaboration to achieve business-focused outcomes.

• Effective networking and collaboration skills to deliver business results.

• Comprehensive knowledge of the pharmaceutical governance landscape.

• Significant operational management experience, including resource allocation, budgeting, and project evaluation.

• Strong negotiation and strategic influencing capabilities.

• Understanding of clinical development, as well as statistical design and analysis.

• Robust analytical and problem-solving skills.
