This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Costa Rica, +4 more countries.
• Take ownership of the entire product design process for account management and security functionalities across both web and mobile web platforms.
• Review current account entry points and outline user flows through routing logic, sign-up/sign-in processes, and account settings.
• Detect and rectify UX inconsistencies across various flow systems.
• Create branching user flows to accommodate diverse account scenarios.
• Address error states, recovery processes, empty states, loading states, and edge cases.
• Generate production-ready documentation for engineering handoff, which includes design redlines, state specifications, and interaction guidelines.
• Engage directly with engineers during technical scoping and refinement sessions.
• Utilize and responsibly expand enterprise-level Figma design systems.
• Conduct basic usability validation.
• Write interface copy that adheres to content standards.
• Ensure design quality assurance throughout the implementation and launch phases.
• Collaborate with senior designers, Product Managers, Software Engineers, and distributed teams across LATAM and North America.
• A mandatory portfolio showcasing shipped, engineering-implemented product software, intricate multi-path flows, and strong visual/interaction design skills.
• 3–5 years of focused UX/UI product design experience delivering production software in close collaboration with Product Managers and Software Engineers.
• Proficiency in Figma.
• Skills in interactive prototyping.
• Extensive experience working within a well-established enterprise-scale design system.
• Capability to discuss authentication mechanics, session states, routing logic, and system dependencies directly with engineers.
• Demonstrated expertise in systems thinking, error/recovery states, accessible UI design, and detailed engineering handoff specifications.
• Familiarity with Jira, Confluence, or Slack.
• Specialized experience in designing authentication, identity verification, account security, sign-in/sign-up, or trust-related user flows.
• Experience utilizing product metrics, A/B testing, and basic usability testing.
• Background in designing for international audiences or compliance with regulated industry standards.
• Experience using AI tools for design exploration, prototyping, user research synthesis, or specification documentation.
• Proven ability to quickly adapt to complex product domains and work independently.
• Willingness to have a flexible schedule to overlap with North American business hours.
• All interviews, documentation, and daily communication will be conducted in English.
