UX Writer, 4 Month Contract

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Create comprehensive user flows and in-app messaging, including interface text, states, onboarding prompts, system notifications, empty state messages, and error handling language.

• Collaborate with designers and product teams to conceptualize features from the outset, ensuring that copy and layout are developed in tandem.

• Take ownership of naming conventions, terminology, and messaging within the product. The way features are named is a design decision that falls under your purview.

• Establish voice and tonal guidelines for features and AI-generated content. Our product utilizes AI for language production, requiring a consistent voice and defined parameters similar to our written content.

• Integrate copy directly into the product builds. You will work closely with prototypes and the live product rather than producing documentation for others to implement.

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 4 years of experience in UX writing or content design for product applications. A robust portfolio showcasing in-product copy across various platforms (mobile, desktop, web) is essential.

• Exceptional attention to detail and strong organizational capabilities, including expertise in information architecture.

• A passion for an interactive writing approach: crafting new content, refining existing text, and understanding language within the context of the overall user experience.

• A perspective on restraint; you can justify the removal of a word and generally prefer to do so.

• Ability to articulate and advocate for your writing decisions during reviews, including discussions with senior leadership, while navigating feedback from diverse stakeholders without losing focus.

• Experience utilizing UX writing systems and an understanding of industry standards.

• Proficient understanding of AI and conversational interfaces, including dialogue, prompts, generated text, chatbots, and AI-driven interactions.

• Comfortable using design tools such as Figma and collaborating closely with prototypes, functional specifications, and the actual product build.

• Strong instinct for clarity, particularly in technical or complex products.
