UX Researcher – Mixed Methods

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada, +1 more country.

📋 Description

• Carry out UX research, focusing mainly on usability and quality-validation testing.

• Sustain the social and technical systems that ensure research is repeatable and scalable.

• Report to the design manager and collaborate with the current UX researcher, product designers, product managers, and engineers.

• Manage a backlog of studies, initially placing significant emphasis on one large ongoing project.

• Progress towards owning the research direction for one or more product areas with increasing independence.

• Oversee the complete study lifecycle from recruitment and scoping to analysis, communication of results, and collaboration on opportunities.

• Assess shipped features and confirm design assumptions.

• Guide designers and PMs through study design, interpretation of results, and subsequent steps.

• Develop reusable research enablement assets, templates, reference guides, skills, and workflows.

• Maintain and enhance the research library, including documentation, tagging, project organization, and discoverability.

• Administer and sustain the research tool stack and associated resources.

• Review ongoing feedback and ensure that issues and friction points are documented by relevant EPD pods.

• Manage the participant panel, invitations, list quality, and project clean-up.

• Process study compensation, manage receipts, and oversee study budget utilization.

• Handle vendor renewals and coordinate procurement with legal, finance, and the senior researcher.

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in UX research or a similar applied research domain.

• Strong skills in usability testing utilizing both qualitative and experimental methods.

• Proficiency in survey design.

• Capability to learn and implement higher-precision quantitative methods as required.

• A solid foundation in structured and semi-structured qualitative interviewing.

• Fluency in mixed-methods that encompass both qualitative and quantitative approaches.

• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to adapt research findings for various audiences.

• Aptitude to advocate for insights in cross-functional environments.

• Experience in independently managing research logistics, including recruiting, scheduling, compensation, and study operations.

• Familiarity with developer tooling, enterprise, security, or networking.
