This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States, +1 more country.
• Conduct growth research studies that support the experiment pipeline and address tactical inquiries for the growth team.
• Manage the entire lifecycle of studies, which includes scoping, recruiting participants, conducting research, analyzing data, and sharing findings.
• Create evaluation and diagnostic studies to assess adoption experiences.
• Carry out both moderated and unmoderated usability tests, interviews, mixed-methods research, longitudinal studies, surveys, and feedback forms.
• Analyze behavioral data from logs to guide research efforts, validate hypotheses, and cross-reference with experimental and unmoderated test data.
• Review community forums and feedback forms to uncover potential research opportunities.
• Identify user needs throughout trial, proof-of-concept, and adoption phases.
• Model and map adoption behaviors while defining user personas.
• Progress towards autonomously identifying research opportunities and overseeing a growth research program.
• Collaborate with the Growth PM and Growth Designers to convert hypotheses into study designs and actionable insights.
• Assist in testing and validating designs, pinpointing adoption friction, and proposing experiment and design ideas.
• Work in tandem with the growth team's experimentation and A/B testing schedule.
• Cultivate expertise in understanding how users discover, try, and adopt Tailscale.
• Extend research efforts into pricing, packaging, billing, and SKU analysis.
• Collaborate with other researchers on interconnected research inquiries.
• Over 5 years of experience in UX research or a related applied research discipline.
• Proficient in quantitative research methods, including survey design, experimental approaches, and statistical analysis.
• Strong usability testing capabilities across both moderated and unmoderated techniques.
• Expertise in using one or more usability testing platforms.
• Proficient in quantitative data analysis, experimental design, survey methodology, and inferential statistics.
• Experience in independently managing study logistics, encompassing participant recruitment, scheduling, and compensation.
• Excellent communication skills, effectively tailored for product and engineering stakeholders.
• Background in a SaaS or B2B product environment.
