UX Designer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Pennsylvania.

📋 Description

• Take charge of the UX design for the MHEV operator application: ramp up quickly, deliver a version 2 concept by the third month, and assume complete design responsibility for the product line from that point onward.

• Create designs for real-world operational scenarios: tablet interfaces utilized by warehouse associates during shifts, in noisy environments and under time constraints, where clarity is essential to the role.

• Visit customer locations to observe the actual use of our products in the field, incorporating that context into every design decision you make.

• Tackle the Sage dashboard, our AI-driven insights platform, as your secondary product area, shaping a product that is still in its early stages, where your decisions will significantly influence its trajectory.

• Collaborate directly in Figma with engineering and product teams, rapidly prototyping and delivering designs that eliminate ambiguity instead of introducing it.

• Leverage Claude and other AI tools to transition from concept to functional prototype, rather than just static mockups, within a fast-paced team that expects its designers to keep up.

⛳️ Requirements

• A portfolio demonstrating UX work for products with real users in authentic workflows, showcasing the thought process behind the screens, not merely the screens themselves.

• Proficiency in using Claude or other AI tools to create functional prototypes, rather than just static designs in Figma.

• Fluency in Figma, or extensive experience with a similar collaborative design and prototyping tool.

• Experience in designing informed by user research: you have engaged with users, observed their work, and allowed that insight to inform your designs.

• Capability to work independently with minimal structure: recognize design needs before being prompted, act swiftly, and pose insightful questions when faced with challenges.

• A genuine willingness to travel approximately 20% of the time to customer warehouses and our Pittsburgh office, which is integral to the role.
