Technical UI Designer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of UI implementation from wireframe to final refinement across all target platforms.

• Decompose UI features into widgets, structures, classes, and data-driven components that align with gameplay requirements.

• Work collaboratively with UI/UX design, UI art, technical design, and engineering to produce interfaces that are functional, efficient, accessible, and visually refined.

• Create responsive animations and interactive UI behaviors that respond to gameplay events, player inputs, and internal UI states.

• Provide guidance on implementation strategies, including decisions between Blueprint and native code, as well as architectural, structural, and workflow considerations.

• Optimize and troubleshoot UI/UMG and Blueprint issues to achieve platform performance goals.

• Enhance Technical UI Design workflows, pipelines, organization, and documentation; offer feedback throughout the UI development process.

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Technical UI Designer, including at least one released Unreal Engine title in a Technical UI Designer position.

• Expertise in UMG, Blueprints, and Enhanced Input.

• Comprehensive understanding of Unreal UI architecture, lifecycle events, state management, and UI-specific performance factors.

• Proven experience in implementing animated, responsive, data-driven UI components such as HUDs, health bars, popups, and action prompts.

• Thorough knowledge of UI/UX, game usability, interaction design, visual design, and contemporary video game UI best practices.

• Strong debugging and documentation capabilities, with proficiency in diagnosing visual and logic-related UI challenges.

• Self-motivated, organized, collaborative, and capable of working remotely with minimal supervision.

• Excellent written, verbal, and visual communication abilities.

• Solid understanding of art fundamentals, animation, and aesthetic evaluation.
