Utilization Review Nurse – Weekends

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Employ established, evidence-based screening standards to assess the suitability of patient admissions.

• Conduct initial assessments, ongoing stay evaluations, and discharge screenings.

• Continuously monitor patient observation status.

• Relay pertinent information to payer agencies regarding patient admissions.

• Initiate referrals to both internal and external interdisciplinary teams.

• Develop a working diagnosis for each patient during the initial assessment.

• Communicate the target length of stay and projected discharge date.

• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to coordinate discharge planning.

• Document communications among the team, physicians, and payers regarding care coordination issues.

• Discuss level of care or admission status with physicians.

• Refer suitable cases to the Physician Advisor for secondary evaluation.

• Address payer denial and appeal matters with the Physician Advisor, CMO, or attending physician.

• Perform additional duties as assigned.

⛳️ Requirements

• Associate’s Degree in Nursing (ADN) required.

• Minimum of 5 years of clinical nursing experience.

• Current AR Registered Nursing license.

• Certification as a Certified Case Manager (CCM) or American Case Management (ACM) is preferred.

• Documentation of legal authorization to work in the United States must be provided on the first day of employment.

• Annual TB screening is required.

• Completion of a criminal background check.

• Substance abuse testing is mandatory.
