This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Nebraska.
• The UTILITY CONSTRUCTION INSPECTOR is tasked with monitoring and assessing suppliers to ensure that all equipment delivered meets the company's quality standards, regulatory criteria, and performance requirements.
• This position requires travel for on-site inspections, document evaluations, functional testing, and ongoing improvement initiatives that safeguard product integrity and uphold supplier accountability.
• Oversee, review, and resolve supplier corrective action requests.
• Prepare and finalize audit reports with accompanying photographs and relay audit findings to the cross-functional team and suppliers promptly.
• Analyze supplier change notifications and assess their impact on internal systems.
• Keep comprehensive audit reports and supplier documentation.
• Collaborate with suppliers to ensure product compliance with specifications and conduct supplier audits as necessary.
• Create measurement strategies for product release at supplier locations.
• Offer support to external manufacturing areas.
• Partner with production staff and supervisors to identify and monitor quality metrics, sampling plans, and address issues related to non-conforming products.
• Aid in corrective and preventive action investigations to identify the root causes of issues.
• Inspect incoming supplies and products from vendors for defects and quality assurance.
• Maintain detailed records on supplier quality, including defect rates and areas leading to flaws.
• Act as a liaison between the organization’s senior management, clients, and vendors.
• Interpret work instructions and/or drawings to confirm production and/or assembly details.
• This role will be on an as-needed basis with no guaranteed hours. Compensation will be determined based on experience and current certifications.
• Willingness to work 50+ hours per week.
• High School Diploma or GED Certification.
• At least 4 years of experience as a Utility/Craft Inspector or equivalent relevant experience.
• Ability to read work instructions and/or drawings to interpret and confirm production and/or assembly details.
• Capability to read, comprehend, and adhere to company policies and manufacturer guidelines.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, and Outlook) and Adobe Acrobat Reader DC.
• Proven ability to provide visionary strategic leadership; experience in implementing strategic plans, measuring progress, and making necessary adjustments.
• Competent in working independently or as part of a team.
• Self-motivated to complete assigned tasks.
• Strong dedication to personal and team safety.
• Exhibit strong interpersonal and organizational abilities, with the capability to multitask.
• Communicate effectively and interact with all levels of the team, customers, and external contacts through various mediums including phone, written communication, email, and face-to-face.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and evolving environment.
