US Contract Attorney – Transactional

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Evaluate pairs of responses related to transactional tasks, which include contract drafting, redlines, issues lists, due diligence summaries, and deal analyses.

• Assess which AI-generated response is superior and provide reasoning.

• Compose succinct justifications based on source documents and relevant US law.

• Develop realistic legal prompts, fact patterns, and exemplary answers derived from transactional experience.

• Identify errors, gaps, and potentially risky advice in AI-generated legal content.

• Participate in onboarding and calibration sessions.

• Engage in regular side-by-side evaluations and contribute to legal dataset generation.

⛳️ Requirements

• Must be admitted to practice in at least one US state with active bar membership.

• A minimum of 3 years of experience in US transactional practice, including areas such as M&A, finance, capital markets, commercial contracts, or corporate matters.

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an ABA-accredited law school.

• Strong writing skills and meticulous attention to detail.

• Preference for candidates with at least 2 years of experience at an AmLaw 100 firm.

• Previous involvement in legal AI projects with Mercor is desirable.

• Experience in data annotation, AI evaluation, or legal benchmarking is a plus.

• Must be available to work as an independent contractor.

• H1-B and STEM OPT candidates will not be considered.
