US Contract Attorney – In-House Counsel

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Evaluate pairs of AI-generated responses related to internal legal tasks, such as contract analysis, compliance inquiries, risk evaluations, and business-oriented legal counsel.

• Determine which response is more effective and provide a rationale for your decision.

• Compose succinct justifications based on source materials and relevant US legislation.

• Develop realistic legal prompts, scenarios, and model responses informed by in-house experience.

• Identify inaccuracies, omissions, and potentially harmful advice in AI-generated legal outputs.

• Participate in onboarding and calibration training sessions.

• Engage in regular side-by-side assessments and contribute to the creation of legal datasets for advanced AI models.

⛳️ Requirements

• Licensed to practice in at least one US state with an active bar membership.

• Over 3 years of legal practice, including in-house experience providing counsel on contracts, compliance, employment, risk, or disputes.

• Juris Doctor degree from an ABA-accredited law school.

• Excellent writing skills with meticulous attention to detail.

• 2 or more years of experience at an AmLaw 100 firm is highly preferred.

• Previous involvement in legal AI projects with Mercor is a valuable asset.

• Experience in data annotation, AI assessment, or legal benchmarking is an additional advantage.

• Must be capable of working as an independent contractor.

• H1-B and STEM OPT candidates are not eligible.
