This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Tennessee.
• Conduct virtual examinations and gather age-appropriate medical histories.
• Assess, diagnose, propose treatment plans, and accurately document findings in a timely manner.
• Provide high-quality patient care while ensuring safety standards are met.
• Record patient medical information and review their history during each visit.
• Seek consultations or referrals with other healthcare professionals when necessary.
• Educate and counsel patients effectively.
• Order and interpret diagnostic tests as required.
• Evaluate, triage, and manage both pediatric and adult patients requiring acute care.
• Oversee chronic illnesses and mental health conditions.
• Stay updated on current medical research and trends.
• Provide care for patients across all age groups.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records.
• Collaborate with providers and support teams.
• Create schedules 30 days in advance, with finalization occurring 7 days prior to the start of the month.
• Achieve 90% adherence to the scheduled appointments.
• Complete a minimum of 8 scheduled hours each quarter to remain active as an IH Direct IC.
• Completion of a 3-year residency in Family Medicine or Emergency Medicine.
• A minimum of 3 years of post-residency experience in a high-volume Urgent Care or Primary Care outpatient environment.
• Active ABMS or AOA Board Certification in Family Medicine or dual board certification in Internal Medicine + Pediatrics.
• Successful completion of the U.S. Medical Licensing Examination.
• Possession of an active and unrestricted medical license in at least one state.
• Experience and comfort in providing care for patients of all ages, from newborns to adults.
• Ability to work effectively within an integrated medical practice.
• A wide range of clinical expertise.
• Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Proven proficiency with technology.
• Demonstrated adaptability and flexibility.
• Not currently excluded or sanctioned by any state or federal healthcare program.
• Must maintain active Medicare status.
• Flexibility in scheduling, including availability for evenings and weekends.
• Regular and prompt attendance at the assigned work location.
• Capacity to remain seated for extended periods.
• Adequate eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity to operate a keyboard, computer, and other office equipment.
• Ability to occasionally exert approximately 20 lbs. of force.
• Capability to interact appropriately with leadership, colleagues, and members.
• Preferred: Multistate licensure (5 or more licenses).
• Preferred: Licenses in GA, AL, TN, MO, SC, IN, OK, MS.
• Preferred: Experience in telemedicine or virtual care with video-based consultations.
• Preferred: Familiarity with Athena EMR.
• Preferred: Experience and interest in supervising Nurse Practitioners.
• Coverage for medical malpractice insurance is provided.
• Flexible scheduling options with opportunities for additional ad hoc shifts.
