This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Perform maintenance and large component replacements on wind turbine generators across the United States.
• Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues on variable-pitch/variable-speed turbines.
• Supervise contractors on site.
• Contribute to team objectives with an emphasis on safety, quality, and execution.
• Assist Field Engineers and Lead Field Specialists.
• Fulfill training requirements for Up Tower Qualifications standards.
• Engage in pre-job meetings that cover lift plans, LOTO, schedules, weather conditions, hazards, and job-site/landowner requirements.
• Aid in site preparation and coordinate labor and materials needed for the job.
• Record work activities utilizing computer-based service reporting procedures.
• Relay site status updates to engineering, customers, and management.
• Operate independently or collaborate as part of a team.
• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• A minimum of 1 year of experience as a Wind Turbine Technician and/or completion of a Certificate, Associate's, or Bachelor's Degree in a relevant discipline is necessary.
• At least 2 years of related experience in electrical, mechanical, hydraulics, renewable energy, or a similar field is required.
• Willingness and ability to travel domestically and internationally 90% of the time.
• A valid driver's license is mandatory.
• Capability to handle repetitive weights of up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to climb towers reaching heights of 300 feet.
• Comfort in working under all weather conditions.
• Must meet OSHA weight limits of 250 to 300 lbs maximum.
• Proficient in reading and understanding electrical schematic drawings.
• Capable of reading and interpreting technical manuals, procedures, and regulations.
• Ability to compose reports and perform basic arithmetic operations.
• Willingness to work in industrial, manufacturing, and power industry environments.
• Availability to work rotating shifts, 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
• Must be eligible to work legally in the United States.
• Successful completion of a drug screen may be required.
