This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Minnesota.
• Develop, nurture, and sustain relationships with ethnically diverse communities, community leaders, organizations, media outlets, businesses, and local contacts.
• Act as a liaison between NMDP and the community, responding to leads and referrals.
• Utilize public speaking and written communication to promote the NMDP mission and enhance diverse registry membership, volunteerism, and philanthropic contributions.
• Identify and propose innovative practices for community engagement and registry recruitment.
• Collaborate with account managers and marketing to devise annual engagement and recruitment strategy plans.
• Organize and execute mission-focused events, both live and digital.
• Engage volunteers and sponsors to meet event objectives and communicate outcomes and impacts.
• Inform prospective volunteer donors about NMDP’s mission, donation procedures, and expectations for registry members.
• Develop annual activity plans for targeted college campuses and monitor progress towards goals.
• Work in partnership with account managers, network partners, transplant centers, marketing, and other internal teams.
• Assist patient families by assessing needs and referring them to NMDP support services.
• Identify and promote patient and donor stories, assist with media pitches, take part in media events, and represent NMDP during interviews.
• Recruit, retain, interview, screen, train, place, and oversee volunteers.
• Monitor volunteer data and hours, and facilitate volunteer recognition initiatives.
• Collaborate with a regional team to meet monthly, quarterly, and annual registry enrollment targets.
• Understanding of sales and marketing principles.
• Familiarity with volunteer management practices.
• Knowledge of developing in-market strategies and generating leads.
• Expertise in planning and executing events.
• Capability to navigate college and university systems, including athletics, affinity groups, student government, and Greek organizations.
• Ability to network and cultivate community partnerships within ethnically diverse communities.
• Proficiency in utilizing social media effectively.
• Skill in leveraging digital marketing for recruitment purposes.
• Ability to engage and influence others.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong public speaking and presentation abilities.
• Effective organizational and time management skills for managing multiple projects.
• Self-motivated and driven by goals.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, as well as Salesforce and the Internet.
• Willingness to learn and travel within the region as necessary (25%-50%), work evenings and weekends, and undertake occasional national travel (3-4 trips per year).
• Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline or an equivalent combination of formal education and experience.
• A minimum of two years of experience in sales, business or community development, client account management, event planning, and implementation with defined goals or targets.
• A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation suitable for carrying event materials.
• Experience as a marrow or PBSC donor or a direct connection to the mission is advantageous.
• Bilingual language skills may be required based on location.
