Underwriting Technician, Large Casualty

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Accurately process new and renewal insurance applications within established timelines.

• Conduct routine selection, evaluation, and pricing of less complex risks in accordance with designated authority and procedures.

• Aid underwriters with standard agency communications.

• Request necessary underwriting and state-required information based on established guidelines.

• Input insurance application data and confirm accuracy and compliance with state regulations.

• Issue and compile policies following underwriter approval.

• Manage policy cancellations, declinations, and reissues as directed by underwriters.

• Review underwriting requirements and suggest policy acceptance or denial based on predetermined processes when requested.

• Provide support and/or training to fellow Underwriting Technicians.

• Contribute to special projects as needed.

• Update the underwriting system as required.

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience is required.

• Some college education is preferred.

• Generally requires a minimum of three years of relevant work experience in an office setting.

• Familiarity with policy processing procedures and documentation is essential.

• Understanding of relevant insurance products is necessary.

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills are required.

• Proven ability to maintain high levels of productivity and quality.

• Capability to work independently on various tasks simultaneously.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other business-related software is necessary.
