Underwriting Specialist – Technology

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama, +3 more states.

📋 Description

• Underwrites and oversees a portfolio of intricate, specialty accounts within extensive authority limits.

• Aids in the creation and implementation of strategic initiatives aimed at enhancing growth and profitability for the designated portfolio in the assigned region.

• Optimizes opportunities for underwriting lucrative new and renewal business.

• Cultivates and sustains an active list of target accounts.

• Manages the financial performance of the designated region.

• Implements underwriting strategies as directed by management.

• Ensures adherence to standards and designated underwriting authorities.

• Makes underwriting decisions to accept, reject, or adjust risks.

• Builds exceptional working relationships with producers.

• Collaborates closely and forges strong business partnerships with other departments.

• Oversees agency action plans and engages in account management.

• Provides training and mentorship to junior underwriters.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience is preferred.

• A minimum of 5-7 years of underwriting experience in Life Sciences is required.

• A professional insurance designation is preferred.
