Underwriting Specialist – Specialty Property

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +13 more states.

📋 Description

• Underwrites and oversees a portfolio of highly intricate specialty accounts within expansive authority levels.

• Aids in the formulation and implementation of strategic initiatives that enhance growth and profitability for the designated book of business in the assigned region.

• Optimizes opportunities for underwriting profitable new and renewal business.

• Creates and maintains an active target account list, monitoring prospects and account rounding and/or missed opportunities.

• Oversees the financial performance of the designated territory, including accident year loss ratio, premium plans, and commission objectives.

• Implements the underwriting strategy as directed by management.

• Exhibits a robust understanding of exposures and critical coverage issues.

• Cultivates exceptional working relationships with producers to effectively advance growth and profitability objectives.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience is preferred.

• A minimum of 5-7 years of progressively complex specialty lines underwriting experience is required.

• A professional insurance designation is preferred (AICPCU, RPLU).
