• Gain a comprehensive understanding of all data sources, fields, and relationships related to Underwriting and Rebate Administration, including historical claims, Medi-Span tables, NCPDP tables, and Capital Rx’s Book of Business data to analyze trends, identify patterns, and perform complex data analyses that support Underwriting, Rebate Administration, and Sales objectives.
• Explore new data sources to construct and maintain data pipelines that clean, transform, and aggregate diverse data sets.
• Employ agile software development practices to create, sustain, and enhance back-end systems for data extraction, pricing methods, and analytic tools to boost the department’s technical capabilities.
• Design models for front-end views and back-end data sources to provide a holistic view of the user experience and analytic pipelines within the system, facilitating robust data analysis.
• Diagnose and resolve data or process issues by troubleshooting and customizing infrastructure code using SQL, R, and Python.
• Collaborate closely with our Underwriting and Clinical teams to develop intricate algorithms that yield valuable insights from our data.
• Aid in the analysis and creation of new models and front-end tools designed for predictive analytics and addressing inquiries for financial modeling and reporting.
• Partner with various teams across the organization on data sources and analytic methodologies to support Underwriting, Rebate Administration, and company goals.
• Deliver standard and ad-hoc analytics to assist the Underwriting and Rebate Administration teams in successfully completing bid opportunities and managing rebate payments.
• Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Computer Science, or IT.
• Over 1 year of experience with Python, SQL, and data visualization/exploration tools; experience with R is highly advantageous.
• More than 1 year of demonstrated experience in data analysis, including financial analysis, actuarial services, accounting, pricing, and underwriting.
• Familiarity with the AWS ecosystem, particularly Redshift and RDS.
• Experience in creating or maintaining ETL processes.
• Strong technical expertise in software engineering and programming languages.
• Excellent numerical, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
• Proven history of leading cross-functional projects, achieving high performance, meeting deadlines, and delivering results in a fast-paced environment.
• Capability to manage multiple complex projects at once.
• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, especially in conveying technical concepts to non-technical business leaders.
• Highly adaptable, exceptionally organized, and capable of easily shifting priorities.
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
• Familiarity with pharmaceutical claims is a plus.
