This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Designing and upkeeping scalable database architectures tailored for analytical workloads, ensuring peak performance through indexing, partitioning, caching, and query optimization.
• Creating, automating, and managing data ingestion, transformation, validation, and loading pipelines to facilitate high-quality data flows.
• Developing reusable data connection modules and backend infrastructure components to optimize data operations and accommodate future growth.
• Assisting in data preprocessing, normalization, and thorough data quality validation processes.
• Participating in cloud migration planning, governance, and assessment of cloud solutions concerning security, compliance, interoperability, and performance.
• Generating detailed data models, architecture diagrams, flowcharts, and technical documentation for both internal and external stakeholders.
• Employing PowerShell scripting and automation to improve data engineering workflows and system integration.
• Collaborating with technical, security, and stakeholder teams throughout the project lifecycle to deliver impactful data solutions.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Information Systems, or a related discipline.
• Over 5 years of experience in data engineering, database administration, or data architecture.
• Demonstrated experience in designing and optimizing scalable database architectures for analytical workloads, including query performance tuning (indexing, partitioning, caching).
• Practical experience in constructing and maintaining automated data ingestion, transformation, validation, and loading pipelines.
• Strong SQL proficiency with PostgreSQL, SQL Server, Oracle, or similar relational databases.
• Skills in Python or R for data transformation, automation, or pipeline development.
• Experience with PowerShell scripting and automation.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (Azure or AWS) for cloud-hosted data solutions.
• Understanding of FedRAMP requirements and cloud security best practices.
• Proficient in using Git with documented development practices.
• Experience in designing data models for analytics (e.g., dimensional star/snowflake and/or normalized relational models).
• Experience working with government program stakeholders and security/privacy personnel, and presenting technical deliverables to varied audiences.
• Eligibility to obtain and maintain a Tier 4 (High-Risk) Public Trust and HSPD-12/PIV credentialing.
• Willingness to travel approximately 10% as necessary.
