This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Kansas, +4 more states.

📋 Description

• Offer underwriting assistance, advice, and authorization to company staff, agents, and clients regarding real estate title insurance commitments and policies.

• Underwrite the issuance of title insurance within the limits of delegated authority.

• Provide direction on real estate settlement services.

• Function in the highest capacity for the Region, delivering leadership and guidance.

• Build and sustain relationships with assigned agents, brokers, internal clients, and external clients to attract, develop, and retain profitable regional business.

• Review and approve draft underwriting standards and guidelines created by subordinates.

• Relay underwriting and real estate settlement services information from superiors to subordinates.

• Participate in state associations when requested.

• Engage in underwriting initiatives associated with product development.

• Evaluate underwriter metrics to pinpoint areas for improvement and development opportunities.

• Contribute to a company culture that emphasizes the 4 Cs, quality of work, and high performance.


⛳️ Requirements

• Proven practical experience with real estate title and settlement process concepts, practices, and procedures.

• Comprehensive knowledge of Federal and State regulations concerning real estate title insurance and settlement services.

• Capacity to lead others in the execution of programs and projects.

• Strong business acumen and strategic thinking abilities.

• Ability to nurture others and drive change.

• Confidence, sound judgment, and effective decision-making skills.

• Proficient in diagnosing and analyzing problems, driving suitable solutions, and achieving intended outcomes.

• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multitask, prioritize, and perform under pressure.

• Abstract thinking and creative problem-solving capabilities.

• Ability to think innovatively and make unique yet sound decisions for complex issues.

• Law Degree is required.

• Must be admitted to practice in a state within the region.

• Proficient in MS Office Suite.

• Strong verbal and written interpersonal and communication skills.

• Ability to quickly adapt, multitask, and retain information related to the business domain.

• Must successfully pass a criminal history background check.

• Preferred: experience in creating and presenting educational and underwriting materials for employees and agents.

• Full-time schedule, Monday through Friday, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
