Underwriting Counsel

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Tennessee.

📋 Description

• Evaluate risks associated with title insurance, underwriting challenges, and regulatory matters.

• Offer underwriting solutions to agents, the sales team, and title examiners in compliance with company policies and applicable local, state, and federal regulations.

• Manage underwriting for residential and limited commercial transactions.

• Conduct training seminars online and in-person for title agents and production personnel.

• Deliver exceptional customer service while making informed underwriting choices.

• Efficiently handle a high volume of underwriting inquiries via email and phone in a professional manner.

• Assess and respond to indemnity requests.

• Accompany sales staff on agent visits across Tennessee.

• Collaborate effectively in a remote team setting.

⛳️ Requirements

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree.

• At least 3 years of experience focused on Tennessee real property and title insurance.

• Must hold membership in good standing with the Tennessee Bar.

• Comprehensive understanding of Tennessee real property law and related fields relevant to real property transactions.

• Familiarity with the Tennessee title insurance sector.

• Strong oral and written communication abilities.

• Skill in building relationships.

• Proficient in problem-solving.

• Capable of making decisions.

• Ability to identify issues, gather information, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

• Skill in resolving practical problems and addressing a variety of concrete variables with limited standardization.

• Competence in interpreting written, oral, diagrammatic, or scheduled instructions.
