Senior Legal Director

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Prepare, evaluate, and negotiate commercial contracts, including SaaS, software licensing, professional services, and maintenance agreements.

• Collaborate with Sales and Services teams to efficiently close deals while ensuring adherence to legal and regulatory standards.

• Offer strategic legal advice on RFPs, government procurement processes, and contract frameworks.

• Create and execute scalable legal processes and templates that support revenue expansion.

• Assist cross-functional projects that involve compliance, sales operations, and risk management.

• Keep abreast of laws, regulations, and industry trends that impact SaaS and public sector contracts.

• Cultivate a secondary area of legal proficiency, such as privacy, compliance, or employment law.

• Act as a principal legal advisor to sales and services teams, reporting directly to the Chief Legal Officer.

⛳️ Requirements

• Juris Doctor (JD) from a U.S. law school accredited by the ABA.

• Currently active member of a state bar, with eligibility for California Registered In-House Counsel if not admitted to the California bar.

• Over 8 years of legal experience, with a minimum of 3 years in-house at a technology or SaaS organization.

• Demonstrated experience in negotiating commercial contracts, especially with government entities.

• Strong grasp of SaaS business models and software licensing concepts.

• Capability to manage various priorities and work autonomously in a dynamic environment.

• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with a collaborative and team-oriented approach.

• Knowledge of revenue recognition principles and their influence on contract terms is preferred.

• Prior experience in supporting enterprise software sales and professional services engagements is a plus.

• Familiarity with privacy, compliance, or government relations is advantageous.
