Underwriting Counsel

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Tennessee.

📋 Description

• Evaluate title insurance risks, underwriting challenges, and regulatory matters

• Offer underwriting solutions to agents, the sales team, and title examiners in line with Westcor company policies as well as local, state, and federal regulations

• Manage underwriting for both residential and commercial transactions

• Conduct training seminars to instruct title agents and production staff (both online and in-person)

• Deliver exceptional customer service while making prudent underwriting decisions

• Assess and address indemnity requests

• Engage with current Westcor agents to enhance wallet share and identify new business opportunities through prospecting

• Travel with sales personnel, managers, or other underwriters for agent visits across various states

⛳️ Requirements

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree

• At least 3 years of experience focused on North Carolina real estate and title insurance

• Must maintain good standing with the North Carolina Bar

• In-depth knowledge of real property law in NC, SC, and Georgia, along with expertise in the title insurance sector
