Underwriting Associate, Ocean Marine

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Enhance your professional portfolio as an Underwriting Associate (Ocean Marine Cargo).

• Underwrite risks throughout the underwriting lifecycle for both renewal and new business within a specified authority.

• Collaborate with Underwriters to maintain relationships with branches and brokers.

• Conduct underwriting analysis and documentation to assess risk acceptability.

• Manage endorsement requests within designated authority limits.

• Act as a liaison within the branch to address and resolve issues.

• Ensure completeness, compliance, and quality in the documentation of assigned files.

• Prepare quote proposals and engage in negotiations with external partners.

• Support marketing efforts for products and services through external partnerships.

• Serve as a resource for colleagues while staying informed on business strategies and trends.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience is required.

• Generally, a minimum of three years of relevant work experience is expected.

• Familiarity with Property and Casualty underwriting, including insurance products, policy processing procedures, and documentation.

• Excellent time management and analytical skills are essential.

• Strong interpersonal and communication abilities are necessary.

• Proven capability to work independently on various tasks.

• Strong aptitude for advising and mentoring others.

• Documented customer service experience with the ability to engage with a diverse range of individuals daily, both in person and through telephone and email.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and other business-related software.
