AVP, Underwriting Manager, SE

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Lead, guide, and cultivate a team of underwriters to meet production and profitability targets.

• Conduct regular file assessments, coaching sessions, and discussions regarding performance.

• Promote underwriting consistency, accountability, and execution throughout the team.

• Oversee and expand an individual book of business while ensuring profitability and adherence to underwriting standards.

• Foster robust relationships with brokers and distribution partners to generate new business prospects.

• Monitor portfolio performance, rate adequacy, loss trends, and exposure management.

• Collaborate with leadership on business planning, forecasting, and strategies for growth.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 7 years of commercial underwriting experience, ideally in E&S or specialty casualty lines.

• Previous leadership or team management experience is preferred.

• Strong technical underwriting and portfolio management expertise.

• Demonstrated ability to manage and expand a profitable book of business.

• Exceptional communication, decision-making, and relationship-building skills.
