This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Assess, choose, and oversee underwriting risks while enhancing team performance and portfolio results.
• Underwrite both new and renewal business by evaluating risks, establishing terms and conditions, and making decisions within assigned authority.
• Manage the entire underwriting workflow, encompassing submissions, binding, policy servicing, and documentation, in line with company and regulatory standards.
• Track production metrics, such as retention, risk distribution, and underwriting performance, to support portfolio quality and predictability.
• Analyze and address underwriting challenges, including inspection results, servicing requests, and coverage modifications to ensure risk accuracy.
• Collaborate with producers, agents, and internal teams to guarantee timely communication and effective implementation of underwriting decisions.
• Provide leadership and coordination among underwriting teams, ensuring consistency, communication, and compliance with policies and procedures.
• Mentor and aid the development of junior underwriters through technical support and knowledge sharing.
• Bachelor’s degree or a relevant insurance qualification is preferred.
• Experience in underwriting, including multi-line or specialty insurance products.
• Proven ability to manage complex accounts and contribute to underwriting performance results.
• Experience in offering guidance or mentorship in a team setting is preferred.
• Required to hold an appropriate state-specific insurance license.
• Professional certifications such as CPCU, CIC, or equivalent may be advantageous.
• Strong capabilities in underwriting analysis and risk evaluation.
• Familiarity with underwriting guidelines, rating practices, and regulatory standards.
• Ability to interpret policies, contracts, and coverage frameworks.
• Analytical thinking and problem-solving aptitude in intricate underwriting scenarios.
