This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colorado.
• Support the underwriting of insurance risks in line with the business strategy and assigned authority.
• Offer technical underwriting and administrative assistance to the underwriting team.
• Evaluate underwriting data to prioritize, prepare, and respond to quotes, renewals, and policy endorsements.
• Implement underwriting guidelines while ensuring adherence to all company filings, regulations, and policies.
• Underwrite and manage all endorsement requests within the designated letter of authority.
• Maintain assigned files with high-quality underwriting information that aligns with the business objectives.
• Review new business submissions for designated underwriters and create necessary file documentation.
• Deliver comprehensive analyses and underwriting recommendations to the Underwriter when decisions exceed their authority.
• High school diploma or its equivalent.
• An associate or bachelor’s degree in a relevant field is preferred but not mandatory.
• Completion of or progress towards CIC or AU certifications.
• A minimum of 3 years of experience in commercial property and casualty insurance is preferred.
• Familiarity with coverage forms and endorsements utilized in policy development.
• Proficient in using internal tools, resources, and administrative systems (Risk Selection & Line of Business Manual, Reference Connect, Guidewire, LC360, etc.) for effective decision-making.
• Remain updated on underwriting strategies, regulations, and trends for the assigned territory to make informed underwriting decisions.
• Strong dedication to quality.
• Excellent time management skills with the capability to meet deadlines and effective dates.
• Ability to establish a high level of trust with both internal and external customers.
