Underwriting Assistant

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ohio.

📋 Description

• Assess the eligibility of incoming commercial insurance submissions.

• Utilize underwriting tools and historical data to make informed underwriting choices that contribute to a profitable portfolio.

• Collaborate with senior underwriters to maintain a portfolio with a loss ratio below 40%.

• Examine motor vehicle records to evaluate driver eligibility.

• Adjust or update ratings as necessary.

• Record underwriting decisions thoroughly.

⛳️ Requirements

• Preferred: Property & Casualty insurance license from home state.

• Demonstrated knowledge in insurance underwriting, particularly with commercial auto and package risks.

• At least two years of experience in insurance account administration, specifically with commercial auto and package business, along with proficiency in related lines.

• Associate Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Risk Management, or a related discipline.

• Extensive insurance experience may partially compensate for the absence of a degree.
