This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Maryland.
• Oversee the distribution strategy and commercial underwriting for the Energy sector.
• Assist the Energy team in managing a collection of new and/or renewal business submissions specifically for the Energy portfolio.
• Evaluate and provide policy structures and premium rates for submissions.
• Foster customer relationships, nurture and manage the commercial Energy team, direct sales force, and/or broker partnerships.
• Deliver the highest standard of customer service.
• Assess commercial underwriting risks and review the status of the portfolio.
• Ensure compliance while steering the energy business towards Allianz Trade’s retention, growth, and profitability targets.
• Provide exceptional customer service to both internal and external clients.
• Assist the team in maximizing approvals for the portfolio of policyholders.
• Manage a portfolio of both non-cancellable and cancellable clients.
• Maintain and support customer relationships with brokers and Energy leadership.
• Drive revenue and growth objectives.
• Mentor, guide, and train team members.
• Work independently on other assigned tasks.
• Responsible for a dedicated portfolio, delivering proactive, exceptional service by regularly engaging with customers and brokers.
• Contribute to supporting Commercial in managing customers' loss ratios and implementing necessary measures to ensure or restore portfolio profitability.
• Take charge of projects and initiatives as assigned.
• Build connections with other core functions.
• Attend industry conferences and networking events.
• Stay informed about Energy-specific contracts and market updates.
• Bachelor’s degree in economics, finance, or a related field.
• Advanced degree, MBA or MS in Finance preferred.
• Over 5 years of financial management experience in banking, credit insurance brokerage, or a credit insurance environment.
• Proficient in computer skills, with a solid understanding of financial software and spreadsheet applications.
• Strong analytical and research capabilities.
• Ability to establish long-term customer relationships, even in challenging decision-making contexts and deteriorating markets.
• Excellent planning, organizational, and workflow prioritization skills.
• Strong communicator, able to persuade others regarding decisions made; capable of conducting visits and managing difficult meetings with high-profile seniors.
• Effectively interact with our Risk Underwriters, Direct Sales Force, and other departments within Allianz Trade.
• Good interpersonal and customer service skills.
• Market Knowledge: Expert understanding of the Credit / Insurance industry.
• Strong relationships with brokers and within the industry.
• Solid business acumen and financial assessment skills.
• Experience with Energy contracts is preferred.
• Leadership Skills: Ability to build, train, and motivate teams.
