This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New Jersey.
• Assist in implementing underwriting business strategies and initiatives as directed by the Manager.
• Offer pre-quote transaction assistance, which includes validating information in underwriting workbooks and systems.
• Confirm documentation related to coverage and limits prior to finalizing transactions.
• Engage with producers to gather necessary information for transaction completion.
• Examine and process bind orders before the issuance of policies.
• Create policies, validate policy details, approve drafts within designated authority, establish electronic document management records, and secure underwriter approval when necessary.
• Record premiums and ensure accurate posting.
• Issue authorized policies and review associated underlying policies.
• Relay policy data to Workers Compensation bureaus, the Department of Motor Vehicles, and other external agencies.
• Address reporting-agency critiques in a prompt manner.
• Handle post-bind transactions, including subjectivity and inspection follow-up, endorsements, cancellations, and reinstatements.
• Collaborate with internal teams to respond to policy inquiries, resolve issues, and enhance processes.
• Analyze and report on monthly Pended Transaction and Un-mailed reports categorized by Profit Center.
• Maintain cross-training proficiency for other Profit Centers.
• Execute additional assigned responsibilities and special projects.
• Extensive knowledge in surplus lines policy issuance and post-bind operations.
• High school diploma or GED is mandatory.
• Outstanding attention to detail and strong organizational capabilities.
• Proactive and able to take initiative.
• Proficient in computer applications, including Word, Excel, email, and internet technologies.
• Strong mathematical and data analysis abilities.
• Capability to interpret and manipulate report data effectively.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and transition quickly between projects.
• Competence in reviewing and interpreting complex data.
• Excellent problem-solving skills to identify discrepancies and resolve challenges.
• High accuracy when reviewing documents, entering data, and processing transactions.
• Ensure that information is complete, accurate, and compliant with company standards.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
• Capacity to ask clarifying questions and provide updates as necessary.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with underwriters, assistants, and cross-functional teams.
• Willingness to share knowledge, support colleagues, and foster a positive work environment.
• Ability to deliver quality and timely service to both internal and external customers.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, SharePoint, and other online technologies.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and operate in a fast-paced environment to meet service level agreements (SLAs).
